Dear Neighbour: Protect Etobicoke is a group of concerned residents advocating for inclusion in Etobicoke’s planning and development process. Over the last several years, our Councillor, MPP and MP, have introduced by-laws and regulations without meaningful public involvement. These new rules appear to prioritize developers and special interests over Etobicoke’s need for real housing options and resident concerns. Please sign our petition calling on our Councillor, MPP and MP to support constituents by: - Reversing, or pausing the new by-laws and regulations to reflect input from residents. - Providing renters and those seeking home ownership reasonably sized and priced housing options that offer a good quality of life. - Holding monthly, in-person Townhalls that engage with and are accountable to residents. - Publishing and maintaining a housing development plan for Etobicoke with clear goals and timelines. - Reinstating new-build parking requirements to address congestion and parking disputes. - Raising standards for garbage storage, sanitation and pest management for multi-units with multiple bins to address Etobicoke’s worsening rat and pest problem.
